Project Description
Built for an international client, it is 2.5m in diameter and floats from floor to floor supported by only a centre hollow timber core column. The column is made from 14 pieces of timber each machined to 12.8 degrees and then laminated together to form a perfect hollow column. It is then rounded by hand. The staircase is built in a mold and shaped to fit the space created. The end result was a piece of functional art.
